Basketball tryouts take center stage in Jeff Kinney’s latest

An easy favourite among young and young-at-heart readers around the world, the 16th book in The Diary of a Wimpy Kid continues its tradition of crisp, fun storytelling. The protagonist, Greg Heffley, unexpectedly qualifies tryouts and finds himself a part of the worst basketball team of the school. As the season progresses, and the hopes of Greg’s team winning a match steadily diminishes, it remains to be seen whether, given the opportunity, Greg can take his “big shot”. 

With Jeff Kinney’s iconic illustrations accompanying the trademark matter-of-fact text, the newest title in The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is just what the doctor ordered to banish those post-festive blues.
