Taylor Swift’s new track Carolina just debuted as part of the trailer for the upcoming film, Where the Crawdads Sing, which is scheduled to release this July. Based on Delia Owens’ 2018 novel of the same name, the film has been produced by Reese Witherspoon and stars Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones.
The singer took to Instagram to talk about the novel and also opened up about the song. “Where The Crawdads Sing is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago. As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side. I wrote the song “Carolina” alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerising story,” Taylor wrote.
