What a night!

Published 03.04.22, 12:17 AM

AR Rahman recently performed at the Cricket Celebrates Mujib 100 event, organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The event marked the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Rahman wowed his audiences as he sang 35 songs. Rahman also performed the number Bolo Joy Bangabandhu, which was composed by him. The music video of the song was released last year to mark 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence.

"The stadium erupted in joy when Rahman sang in Bangla. His pronunciation was nice. Every Bangladeshi present at the venue was euphoric,” said award-winning lyricist Zulfiqer Russell, who had also penned the theme song to mark 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence.
