A year after Silk Sonic posted an open letter to the Recording Academy asking for a spot to perform at the 2021 Grammys, the R&B duo has pulled a clean sweep at the 2022 Grammy Awards. The band scored a win in all four categories that they were nominated for. Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s collaborative project won Grammys for best R&B performance, best R&B song, Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

The duo opened the awards show with a Soul Train-like performance of their song 777. “We are really trying our hardest to remain humble at this point, but in the industry, we call that a clean sweep. So all the other nominees, you all know we love y'all. We love y'all. Drinks are on Silk Sonic tonight. We getting drunk. I know a lot of y'all fans might be upset, so we're gonna get out of here before the Internet gets to talking,” .Paak said while accepting Record of the Year.
