‘Shinigami Eyes’ by Grimes

The anime-inspired track is scaling the charts

Canadian singer-songwriter and music producer Grimes just collaborated with Blackpink’s Jennie for her new track Shinigami Eyes. The song will reportedly appear on her new EP Fairies Cum First, which is a prelude to the artiste’s forthcoming album Book 1. The 3:19-minute video for the song is also getting a lot of attention owing to its striking visuals. It features Grimes and Jennie in futuristic gear moving through space.

“I love the record, but it’s just like, everyone's like, what's the deeper meaning? Basically, I wrote the whole space opera thing and this is the only song that wasn’t this big narrative plot. Anyway, I actually do really like the song,” Grimes said in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1.
