‘Player of Games’ by Grimes

Grimes is back!

Canadian singer and music producer Grimes has had quite a year and fans are glad she’s back with new music which reflects upon some aspects of her personal journey. She recently dropped a new track titled Player of Games which she co-produced with Illangelo. The song also features on the soundtrack for the latest season of the video game Rocket League. Player of Games is also the artiste’s first full single since 2020’s Miss Anthropocene. 

The striking music video for the track has been directed by Anton Tammi while Grimes herself served as the creative director. The video follows Grimes facing off against a fictional character called the Dark King (played by Andreï Pishchalnikov) in a game of chess. Her fans have heavily speculated that the song talks about her failed relationship with Elon Musk and the lyrics too suggest the same.
