Coldplay performs with Billie Eilish and FINNEAS at Global Citizen Live

It’s not every day that 60,000 fans sing along, word for word. And that is exactly what happened on Sunday when Coldplay, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS performed Fix You at the Global Citizen Live festival in New York.
The song was composed 16 years ago by Coldplay’s vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Chris Martin, to console his then spouse Gwyneth Paltrow through the loss of a loved one. Ranking at #4 on the UK Singles chart after its release, even today Fix You continues to be one of the most well-loved singles on Coldplay’s hit album X&Y.
The song was performed at the Global Citizen Live festival in New York, a one-day global event to create awareness and raise funds for the worldwide hunger crisis, climate needs in developing countries and COVID-19 vaccination around the world. In what was one of the highlights of the festival, these six unbelievably talented musicians jammed to one of the greatest ballads of all time. With lyrics that take the heart by storm, the sing-along ability of this acoustic track can immediately lift your spirits and leave you feeling a lot calmer than it found you.
“When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need|
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse….Lights will guide you home!”
Do you remember the magic of the very first time you heard Fix You?
