‘Keys’ by Alicia Keys

The Grammy winner calls it her homecoming

Alicia Keys has released her eighth studio album, Keys, which is a follow-up to last year’s Alicia. The album has two versions, ‘Original’ and ‘Unlocked’. “The originals come from that classic side of me!” the singer said recently. The ‘Original’ side of the album may sound familiar to her long-time listeners who appreciate her bluesy, smooth work. The ‘Unlocked’ side is more methodical and it’s a stylised production arranged in collaboration with producer Mike Will Made-It.

The album also features collaborations by Lil Wayne, Swae Lee, Pusha T, Lucky Daye, and Brandi Carlile, with whom Keys just earned a Grammy nomination for the single, A Beautiful Noise. “Keys is a homecoming. I knew that it was bringing me back to a place that was familiar for me,” Alicia shared recently.
