‘EP Kolkata, Vol. 1’ by Borno Anonyo

Homegrown label Borno Anonyo has dropped an EP dedicated to Kolkata, titled EP Kolkata, Vol. 1. The five-track album, which was originally named Iti Kolkata, offers an introspective look at the melody, emotions and nostalgia of the city. 

“Extended Play Kolkata Vol 1 is a figment of everything that plays with us every day, in her name (Kolkata),” says band member Satyaki Banerjee. The band also features Nabamita Das, Dwaipayan Saha, Rajarshi Ghosh, Dibyokamal Mitra and Gaurab ‘Gaboo’ Chatterjee.. The EP is the band’s first compilation of original songs. Last October, the band released a ten-track album titled Small Letters which featured their unique take on familiar Bengali tracks such as Akash bhora surjo tara, Hok Kolorob, Aro ekta raat and the Jibananda’s Abar Asibo Phire.
