Crisis is one of three singles on Joshua Bassett’s recent EP — a three-part story that aims to reclaim the narrative around his messy break-up with pop sensation, Olivia Rodrigo. The other two songs on his extended play are Secret and Set Me Free. 

A romantic tune that chronicles heartbreak, Crisis sheds light on Bassett’s emotional state during the release of Rodrigo's Driver’s License and SOUR. The heartfelt lyrics speak of his struggle in the aftermath of their breakup and the severe impact the social media slander had on his mental health. They also speak of how once a struggle is overcome, happiness lies on the other side.
