Colombia Tierra Querida is a song by Lucho Bermúdez in the Colombian cumbia genre and lends the perfect backdrop to Encanto, Disney’s mystical musical set to release on November 26.

Popularised in 1970, Colombia Tierra Querida has been covered by several musicians, the most famous version being a recording by Bermúdez and his orchestra with vocals by Matilde Diaz. The tune is inspired by the charms of Colombia and celebrates Colombia’s diversity and everything it has to offer. The number has Disney’s traditional fleet-footed rhythms, jazzy folk tunes, sophisticated piano notes and the occasional drum solo.

The animated film explores the rich cultural diversity of Colombia through the magical Madrigal family in their enchanted village and will have eight other songs composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. So, reach out for your dancing shoes, it’s salsa time!
