Arpan Roy, who goes by @theofficialbongsense on Instagram, has the most piercing observations on Bengalis, shared through hilarious Instagram posts. His latest reel features a Bengali giving marks to biryanis from around the country out of 10. The contenders are Hyderabadi Biryani, which according to Arpan is too light and unemotional; Awadhi Biryani, which is ‘the next best thing after Kolkata Biryani’; Dindigul Biryani, which ‘lacks variation in texture, colour and taste’; Veg Biryani, which Arpan straight up calls ‘garbage’, giving it negative marking; and Delhi Biryani, which is pulao masquerading as biryani. The clear winner (no surprises), is the Kolkata Mutton Biryani, securing a perfect score of 20/10 for the balance between mutton, egg and aloo!
