Crab Thermidor at The Olde House Eatery

Victor Banerjee’s choice of shellfish!

Isn’t it comforting to dig into a cheesy bake inside a crab shell? A good Crab Thermidor is one of Kolkata’s most loved delicacies and at The Olde House Eatery, it is Victor Banerjee’s most loved dish. Soft crab meat is scooped out of its shell and cooked with mushrooms and white wine before being baked in a cheese sauce. “Victor Banerjee tried our Crab Thermidor and loved it so much he brought his friends and family the next time he visited Kolkata. I asked him if we could name our dish after him, he said he would love to endorse it!” said Manju Dutta, owner of the Southern Avenue food stop. 

When My Kolkata asked Victor Banerjee about this, he quipped: “I should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling across the floors of silent sea." 

So, just dig in!
