At the Mitra Cafe in Shobha Bazar, you can really still have chicken soup for Rs 2. This price is as old as the establishment itself, which is 112 years old. The soup is available in the mornings but finds no mention on the menu card. You can pair it with the cafe’s other delicacies, one of which is ‘brain chop’, priced at Rs 70. It is prepared with goat brain dipped in egg batter, deep fried until it achieves that perfect crisp.
