Char Sui Pork Bao from House of Dimsums
Go the whole hog with these flavour-packed plates

House of Dimsums brings a slice of Asia to Kolkata by rustling up a host of delectable Asian plates including soups, rice and noodles, platters, meals for one and of course, dim sums. Run by mother-daughter duo Muskan Sethi and Sonali Sethi, this home kitchen is taking its menu up a notch with the addition of an array of pork specials.
Their Char Sui Pork Bao is a splendid juxtaposition of sweet and spicy flavours, with soy and oyster sauce-flavoured braised pork, smothered in a sweet sticky concoction flavoured with Chinese five-spice. If you’re looking for a hog-themed meal, this bao is a fitting appetizer. Other dishes to try from the new menu are Pork & Celery Dimsums, Roasted Chilli Pork, Chilli Toban Pork, Spicy Braised Pork Bamboo Shoot & Pakchoi and Pork Thai Curry.
“We always wanted to introduce pork on our menu but didn’t because we weren’t sure if it would do well. Recently, we’ve received a lot of requests from customers who love pork, so there’s really a huge demand for it. We also plan on introducing sushi to our menu soon, so stay tuned!” said Muskan.
