A man was walking along Chowringhee Road without a mask. “Fanka rastay hantchi tai mask ta khule haate niyechi. Abar porey pore nebo (I took off my mask since this is an empty stretch. I will wear it again),” he said.
A man waiting on the edge of the footpath along Park Street had no mask. “Aabhi corona ka probhab utna tez nehi hai. (Covid is no longer that dangerous),” he said.
A man was spotted crossing the Park Street-Chowringhee Road intersection holding a mask. When asked why he was holding the mask instead of wearing it, he replied: “I took it off just now. Will wear it soon.”
A man looking at his mobile phone near the Esplanade Metro railway station said: “Jol khabo tai khulechi. (I will be drinking water, so I took off the mask.)”
