St Xavier’s University will hold its third convocation on the New Town campus on March 5 in compliance with all Covid protocols, vice-chancellor Father Felix Raj said on Tuesday.
The ceremony will be held under a shamiana to be set up on the football ground.
A total of 627 postgraduate and undergraduate students will receive their degrees, the VC said
Last year’s convocation was held in an open space on the campus with limited attendance.
Explaining the reasons for holding the convocation with full attendance, the VC said: “There is now a lot of life on the campus with students attending classes since February 7, maintaining all Covid protocols.”
This year’s convocation was to be held on February 12 but was deferred following a fresh spike in Covid cases.
The degree-recipients who want to attend the event must be fully vaccinated against Covid or carry an RT-PCR negative report not older than 72 hours before the ceremony.
