Griffins International School, Kharagpur, recently organised an experiential field trip for senior students to the Haldia dock complex.
Ravi Singh, second engineer in-charge of the dock, delivered a brief presentation about the ships and their modern functionalities and the challenges faced by mariners and their career prospects.
To provide real-life experience, the students were taken to the control and engine rooms. The tour was conducted following strict protocol of the Haldia dock complex with the support of Sasanka Sekhar Pandit, senior deputy manager.
Abishek Kumar Yadav, academic director and chairman, Griffins International School, said, “In order to ensure proficiency in learning, the National Education Policy, 2020 calls for the shift towards an experiential learning approach hence this informative tour was planned.”
