Summer has tightened its grip on Kolkata. While the maximum temperature remains around 37°C, the real feel during the day has crossed 50°C with high humidity. Minimum temperatures are hovering around 28°C, making nights equally uncomfortable for residents.
The city feels furnace-like through the day, with the weather office advising people to stay indoors and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun to prevent heat-related illnesses and severe dehydration.
