 Trakila redeems reputation

Aashay Doctor trained Trakila (Yash Narredu-up) redeemed her reputation as best filly at this centre with a clinical performance in the Calcutta 1000 Guineas, the feature event here on Thursday.

Calcutta: Aashay Doctor trained Trakila (Yash Narredu-up) redeemed her reputation as best filly at this centre with a clinical performance in the Calcutta 1000 Guineas, the feature event here on Thursday.
   After her dissapointing performance earlier in the month, the daughter of Western Aristrocrat was let loose to run at mouth watering 3/1, as money poured in the direction of Patrick Quinn trained Dubai Princess (A.Sandesh) alongwith Aarti Doctor's Sky Force (Suraj Narredu), both final entrants.
  Yash had the big made Trakila handily placed behind Sky Force and Dubai Princess till the turn, the moment brakes were released, the response was electrifying after a brief duel, Trakila drew away from Dubai Princess, who was not disgraced in defeat, rest of the field was outclassed with Lady Sunshine running into third place.
  One race earlier, Patrick Quinn’S Blackstone (A.Sandesh-up) claimed the RWITC. Ltd Cup without raising a sweat carrying 62 kgs, Buckley (Yash  Narredu) chased the winner home, while White Roses, after a slow getaway finished third, it would be interesting to watch the progress of the Blackstone in terms races during the season ahead.
  Western India import, Aman Altaf Hussain's trained Divine Thoughts (S.Saqlain-up), a 5/4 favourite, made most of the light impost to clinch the Cameron Handicap, a six furlong sprint, from the fast finishing Dali Swirl (Mohit Singh), who made his challenge a trifle late. 
  The Simply Sensational Handicap over 2000m witnessed the Bharath Singh’S trained Jahzara (S.Anthony Raj-up) easily trouncing the six horse field. H.S.Bath trained Balance (Trevor Patel), who was the public rage,finished second,the three year old filly was in clear need of a run.
 The opening event saw Javed Khan’S Tres Bien (Imran Chisty-up), improved upon his last run to easily claim the Liberty Handicap over 1200m, Honey Cake (J.H.Arul), who led from the word ‘go’ held on to finish a good second.
   Another Western India import - Winter Agenda (Trevor Patel-up) came up trumps in the Star Team Handicap over 1400m.Trevor bought the Adhirajsingh Jodha’s ward through the shortest way from mid bunch easily collar Salome (Hindu Singh)for a smashing win, True Faith (J.H.Arul) finished a decent third ahead of a tiring Pure for Sure.
