Faith had it easy in the Stakes

Pesi Shroff trained Faith (Admiralty-Peritomoreno) easily claimed the first classic of the Calcutta Monsoon Meeting, the 1,400m Skyexch.com Calcutta Fillies Trial Stakes, here, on Wednesday. The race witnessed, the Western India challenger Faith (P.S. Chauhan-up) easily getting the better of Queenstown (A. Imran Khan) and the Hyderabad challenger Beauty Blaze (Suraj Narredu), without being fully stretched. Jockey Chauhan went on to score a double.

Calcutta: Pesi Shroff trained Faith (Admiralty-Peritomoreno) easily claimed the first classic of the Calcutta Monsoon Meeting, the 1,400m Skyexch.com Calcutta Fillies Trial Stakes, here, on Wednesday. The race witnessed, the Western India challenger Faith (P.S. Chauhan-up) easily getting the better of Queenstown (A. Imran Khan) and the Hyderabad challenger Beauty Blaze (Suraj Narredu), without being fully stretched. Jockey Chauhan went on to score a double.
  The Brush Aside Handicap saw H. S. Bath trained Nova (Neeraj Rawal) getting the better of Aashay Doctor’s 10/7 on favorite Stockbridge (S. Anthony Raj) who was clearly in need of a run as was top weighted Basharat.
  Bharath Singh trained southern import Silverita (Hindu Singh) cashed in on her fitness to win by a long neck after a ding-dong battle with the heavily backed Bahuleyan (Suraj Narredu) all down the straight. It was announced that the later bled during the race.
  Skyexch. com Mile Cup over 1600m saw Arti Doctor’s 8/1 charge Nazaakat (P.Tejeshwar) caused the biggest upset on the day. Taken to the front soon after the start the Four year old filly made every post a winning one.  In the same race, the course favourite Orchids (Neeraj Rawal) who finished second clearly needed this run will be seen in better light next time out. Creation Of God finished a far away third.
  Patrick Quinn's western India import Pot Of Gold (Chauhan) easily accounted the field, from the word ‘Go,’ despite veering out in the straight. Mount View (J.H.Arul) finished second while Shivalik Silk filled up the frame, in the same race.
  The day began with Vikash Jaiswal trained Divya Shakthi (Sujit Paswan) coming in for some inspired betting and also easily winning from the stablemate Script. In the same race, the top-weighted El Patron led from the start but weakened to finish third.
