Bengaluru: Racing fever has already gripped the city, as all roads lead to the Bangalore Turf Club this Sunday for the much-anticipated 2,000m Bangalore Summer Derby (Grade-I). A competitive field of sixteen contenders will battle it out for a whopping ₹ 2.5 crore purse, with the winner pocketing a rich ₹1.48 crore.
The two-day racing carnival kicks off here on Saturday with a competitive card of eight races, featuring two Million events for promising three-year-olds.
The spotlight will be on the 1,400m Coromandel Gromor Bangalore Million — where the Malesh Narredu-trained Big Bay (Yash Narredu-up) may make a bold bid from the front for glory.
