Prospective applicants can access the detailed notification for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2024 on the official website, upsc.gov.in, and proceed to submit their applications through upsconline.nic.in.

Steps to Apply

  2. Access the CSE 2024 registration link.
  3. Complete the one-time registration (OTR) process.
  4. Fill out the application form accordingly.
  5. Submit the application upon completion.

Approximately 1,056 vacancies are anticipated to be filled through the UPSC CSE 2024, with 40 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). This inclusive initiative aims to provide opportunities across diverse sections of society, with specific allocations for candidates with blindness and low vision, deaf and hard of hearing, locomotor disability, and multiple disabilities.

Interested individuals must ensure submission of their applications by February 21, 6PM, adhering to the specified deadline.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination consists of two stages: the Prelims examination, featuring objective type questions to shortlist candidates for the Mains round, which includes a written examination and interviews (personality tests).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens to apply for the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Police Service. However, eligibility extends to citizens of India, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees settled before January 1, 1962, and persons of Indian origin from various countries intending to settle in India permanently.
  • Applicants must be aged between 21 and 32 as of August 1, 2023, with relaxations in the upper age limit applicable to reserve category candidates.
  • Additionally, candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognised university to qualify for the examination.
