Prof. Parveen Ahmed Alam, Head of the department and Chairperson, ICMBP-2024, mentioned, “We have been organising this international conference since 2017 and over the years it has emerged as one of the noteworthy international conferences in Kolkata.”

The convenors of ICMBP 2024, Abdul Motin Ostagar and Dr. Adnan Ahmed Siddiqui, firmly believes that the theme of the conference, “Nurturing Inclusive Growth in a Globalised World: India at the Centre Stage'' will offer a timely opportunity to present original research on the theme because of India's recent G20 presidency. Mr. M. Wahab, IPS (Retd.) officer and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University, commended the theme and said, “India is set to become the world's third-largest economy by 2030 and its influence in the Global South will undoubtedly expand. But we actively need to work for inclusive development to ensure that this growth is broad based and balanced”.

Dr. Syed Nurus Salam, Registrar of the University, praised the truly global nature of the conference due to the diverse set of speakers to address the challenges of inclusive growth. Dr. Nandini Deo, an Associate Professor at Lehigh University in the USA, will discuss her work on corporate responsibility for inclusive and sustainable development. The audience will also have the opportunity to glean insights from Dr. Tutan Ahmed, an Assistant Professor at IIT Kharagpur and a former consultant for UNDP and World Bank Group, will share his research on the job market related to migrant workers. However, inclusive growth is a multifaceted challenge and demands efforts from all domains.
