World University of Design (WUD) in Haryana’s Sonipat has launched a six-month certificate programme in acting for budding actors who aspire to pursue a career in the Indian cinema.

The programme, scheduled to begin in March, will be headed by acting trainer Farrukh Naqi Azmi and focus particularly on training students for a career in the Indian film industry.

The varsity will give admissions to 25 students in the first batch of this course. Candidates will be selected for the certificate programme based on their application and performance in the personal interview. The fee for this course is Rs. 97,500.

The course in film acting consists of intensive training of three months and three months of making a feature film to launch the participant as an actor.

The three months of intensive training will ensure that participants work effortlessly in front of the camera, have a good command over the Hindi language with flawless dialogue delivery and facial expressions. This will help the participants in developing a good body language, essential skills of observation, imagination, emotional memories and improvisation skills.

According to WUD, the film acting programme has been specially designed to prepare the students for a career in Bollywood.

Located at the Rajiv Gandhi Education City, the varsity was established in 2018 with an objective to educate students in the creative domain.

Eligibility criteria for the course:

· Above 18 years

· Good command over Hindi language

· Dancing skills

· Acting experience
