UGC urges institutes to promote scientificity of Ayurveda

Ahead of Ayurveda Day, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has urged all higher education institutions to promote the scientificity of Ayurveda. “All the Higher Educational Institutions and their affiliated colleges/institutions are requested to promote the scientificity of Ayurveda by creating Jan Sandesh, Jan Bhagidari and Jan Aandolan for Jan Arogya of people by organizing various activities to reach the maximum number of students and staff.

Additionally, the events may be given wide publicity through social/print/ electronic media campaign,” UGC stated in a letter to vice-chancellors, principals of colleges, and universities. The Ayurveda Day 2022 is stipulated to be celebrated on October 23, 2022

The Ministry of Ayush has been observing Ayurveda Day every year on Dhanawantri Jayanti (Dhanteras) since the year 2016. The theme of this year's Ayurveda Day is 'Har Din, Har Ghar Ayurveda' - 'Ayurveda Everyday, Ayurveda Everywhere'.

The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), a nodal organization will be organising 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', a series of events including competitions to commemorate "Ayurveda@2047" from 12 September 2022 to 23 October 2022. Meanwhile, UGC declared that in case any information is required in the matter, the nodal officer of the events in AIIA can be contacted.
