UGC orders HEIs to register students at ABC portal: check more details here

The University Grants Commission (UGC) will be asking the higher education institutes (HEIs) granting online and ODL programmes to assure that their students register at the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) portal — abc.gov.in soon.

ABC portal is particularly a national-level element for promoting the flexibility of curriculum framework besides the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary academic mobility of candidates across the higher educational institutions (HEls) having valid “credit transfer” mechanism.

Steps to register for ABC portal.

Step 1: Go to the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) portal — abc.gov.in.

Step 2: On their homepage, tap on the link for ‘my account’ option available on the top right side, top corner, and select ‘student’ option.

Step 3: You will be taken to a new window. Here you need to login or register using your username or mobile number or any other government-issued identification cards.

Step 4: Enter all the required information and upload documents as needed.

Apparently the UGC chief has asked the HEIs to implement this portal and credit system only for ODL and online programmes.
