Exams for two sessions being held together this year following COVID disruptions

The UGC-NET exams for December 2021 and June 2022 merged cycles will be held on July 8, 9, 11, and August 12, 13 and 14.

The detailed date sheet will be uploaded soon on the website. But the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the UGC NET exams, decided to conduct the December 2021 and June 2022 session exams together following COVID disruptions.

The UGC NET exam determines the eligibility for lectureship and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indians to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession or research.

The NTA also released lists for UGC NET December 2020/June 2021 candidates who have qualified for the 'Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students, National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes and National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students. The complete lists are available on the NTA website.

Colleges and universities across India recruit assistant professors or grant junior research fellowships (JRF) based on UGC NET scores. The UGC NET marks are important for those looking to work at colleges and universities as well as in public sector undertakings (PSU) in fields like finance, management, corporate communications, human resources and research & development.
