Academic experts from around the world will be leading several sessions on green management

The Universal Business School (UBS), Mumbai, in association with the Institute of Scholars, is hosting the second edition of its International Research Conference (IRC). The conference is a three-event between March 24 and 26 which is being conducted in a hybrid format. The theme of UBS IRC 2022 is ‘Green Economy, A Necessity for a Sustainable Future’. The perspective of the conference is to promote a resource-efficient and socially inclusive green economy.

Experts from around the world have been invited to discuss various themes and topics related to green management.

On March 24, Ajay Kumar Chauhan, director, Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), UBS conducted a pre-conference workshop. The theme of the three-hour informative workshop is High-Quality Research Paper Writing Tips.

The inaugural session for the IRC 2022 will be held on March 25 before the rest of the sessions of the day.

The first session of the day will be on the topic ‘Transitions to Net Zero in a Green Economy’. Sapna A Narula, president (India), Global Network for Sustainable Development (GNSD) and professor and dean, School of Management Studies, Nalanda University will be the plenary and distinguished speaker for this session.

The second session on the second day will be on the theme ‘Impact of environmental management systems on corporate performance’. Distinguished speaker Denis Ushakov, International Business Programme, College of Hospitality Industry Management from Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Bangkok, Thailand will be discussing the theme virtually.

MI Subhani, dean, Business School, Ilma University, Pakistan and Senior Ambassador, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) will be the speaker for the third session of the day. The Thomson Reuters Award-Winning Editor will be discussing ‘Role of DOAJ in Scholarly Communication for a Sustainable Future’.

There will be two sets of parallel sessions later in the day. The first two parallel sessions will be on General Management (parallel session 1) and Technological Innovation (parallel session 2). The following parallel sessions will be on Marketing (parallel session 3) and Human Resource (parallel session 4).

The final day of the conference, March 26, will start with the session on ‘Social Drivers of Sustainable Development’. Marek Wosinski, founder and former president, GNSD and Affiliate Global Futures Scholar at the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory, Arizona State University, the United States of America (USA), will be the distinguished speaker for the session.

Faozi A Almaqtari, professor, department of Accounting, Faculty of Business, Economics, and Social Development, University Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Terengganu, Malaysia will be discussing ‘Green Accounting and Finance: its Relevance in Sustainable Future’ in the second session.

In the third session Shalini Gupta, vice-chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, will be discussing ‘How entrepreneurship education can help meeting the sustainable development goals (SDG)’.

There will be a set of parallel sessions on the concluding day as well. The sessions on Operation (parallel session 5) and Finance (parallel session 6) will be the first parallel sessions. The sessions on Marketing (parallel session 7) and General Management (parallel session 8) will be the next set of parallel sessions.

The final session of the conference will be on ‘Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain in the Smart Cities of Tomorrow’. Muhammad Azmat, department of Engineering Systems and Supply Chain Management at Aston University, United Kingdom is the speaker for the concluding session.
