The clock struck 12 noon today afternoon and young adult students across the state of West Bengal were filled with nervousness and anxiety. The WBBSE board announced that it will be releasing the much-anticipated results for higher secondary today, 24 May 2023.
In a press conference, the West Bengal Board of Higher Education announced the toppers from across the state, district wise along with their rankings.
We at The Telegraph Online Edugraph spoke to one such rank holder, Susama Khan who has secured the much coveted 2nd rank with a score of 495 out of 500.
“We were watching the TV this morning along with my family, that is when we heard my name being called out for the 2nd rank. I felt very happy. I was expecting good marks, but did not expect my name to be announced on TV like this, this was totally unexpected,” said the student of Bankura Banga Vidyalaya.
In order to focus better on her studies, Susama takes the help of art to divert her mind from the pressure of studies. “I have been pursuing art as a hobby which helps me in relieving stress.”
“While preparing for the board exams, I did not follow any strict study schedule or routine, but however, made sure that I paid attention to what my teachers used to teach,” said Susama.
The Bankutra resident’s chosen subjects for HS were Bengali, English, Mathematics, Computer Applications, Philosophy and Geography. Her favourite subject being Geography, she wishes to pursue that for her future studies.
Susama is focused towards her career and aims to make a career in civil services. “I am fond of geography as a subject and would like to study this further. After completing my honours degree in Geography, I will pursue a career in civil services.”
Additionally, when asked who she credits for her good results, Susama says, “My parents, sister and family are the ones behind my success, as they always stayed with me and have supported and guided me as well.”
“My teachers’ contribution is huge and can never be forgotten. Studying from books is not everything, teachers play a huge role in imparting that information to us. Educating us, so that we can be successful humans,” she concluded.
Students who appeared for the exams can check their results on the board's official websites wbbse.wb.gov.in and wbresults.nic.in, or can enter their details here:
