This month’s list brings you 10 separate scholarships, all having an application deadline in October 2022. Scholarships Available In October 2022

Scholarships are given out as a philanthropic endeavour to support and encourage meritorious students, particularly those who may not be able to fund their studies without financial assistance. During the pandemic, many other student scholarships were introduced in India to help children and youth who had lost their parents or the family's main source of income. Here is a list of scholarship opportunities in India application deadlines in October 2022.

Pragati Scholarship

AICTE has a programme in place to support girls seeking technical education, supporting them and helping them advance in the field. This initiative, called "Empowering Women through Technical Education”, aims to provide young women with the chance to further their education and get ready for a prosperous future. To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must be in the 1st year or 2nd year(lateral entry) in any AICTE-approved institution.

Candidates will receive INR 50,000 per annum for every year of the degree. It is important to note that a maximum of two girls from a family can apply for the scholarship and the annual family income should be not more than 8 lakh.

Saksham Scholarship

AICTE is implementing the MHRD programme Saksham, which encourages and supports children with disabilities in pursuing a technical education. To be eligible, a candidate should be admitted into either the first year or the second year (through lateral entry) of a degree-level course at any AICTE-approved institution for the respective year. It is important to note any candidate applying for this scholarship will be considered eligible with a 40% of disability.

Candidates will receive INR 50,000 per annum for each academic year, up to a maximum of four years for first-year students and three years for second-year students.

AICTE Swanath Scholarship

The AICTE is putting the Swanath Scholarship Scheme into action in order to encourage and support orphans who lost one or both parents due to COVID-19; children of members of the armed forces; and children of Central Paramilitary Forces who died in the line of duty (Shaheed) to pursue their education. Candidates who are studying a Degree or Diploma course in an AICTE-approved institute, in the regular mode, are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Candidates will get INR 50,000 per year, up to a maximum of four years for first-year students and 3 years for second-year students(via lateral entrance).

Post Matric Scholarship for Minorities

The Ministry of Minority Affairs offers post-matric scholarships to meritorious students who belong to economically weaker sections of the minority communities. Scholarships will be offered to students who receive at least 50% in their last final exams and whose yearly family income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2 lakh.

Students enrolled in classes XI and XII who are taking technical and vocational courses at this level, such as Polytechnics, ITIs, and other courses, are eligible for the scholarships.

Merit cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Course

The Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme's goal is to offer underprivileged and deserving students from minority populations financial aid so they can enrol in professional and technical programmes. Scholarships will be offered to students who receive at least 50% in their last final exams and whose yearly family income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.

The scholarship is open to students who are accepted into a college to study technical or professional courses after passing a competitive exam.

National Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students

The scholarship is aimed at allowing deserving ST students to pursue graduate/postgraduate studies in recognised institutions of excellence, both public and private, in professional subjects like management, medicine, engineering, information technology, law, and so on. The annual family income of the candidate from all sources should not exceed Rs.6.0 lakh per annum.

ST students who have been admitted to recognized institutions in accordance with the norms set by the institutions will be eligible for the scheme's scholarship.

Raman Kant Munjal Scholarship

The Raman Kant Munjal Scholarships are meant for students wanting to study courses in finance. This financial aid enables students to enrol in reputable universities and follow their aspirations for a successful profession and a better quality of life.

Candidates who are interested in applying for the scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria: A candidate must be 19 years as of 31.05.2022; The annual family income must be less than 4 lakh; The degree course should be BBA, BFIA, B.Com(H,E), BMS, IPM; The minimum educational qualification is class 12.

Each student receives a scholarship of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 5,00,000 every year for a total of 3 years to finish their study.

Charpak Exchange Scholarship

Indian undergraduate or graduate students in all subjects and streams of study who are enrolled in a participating Indian university and seeking to participate in an exchange semester in France(for a period of one to four months) are eligible for this scholarship. The applicant must meet the following requirements: be an Indian national who resides in India; be no older than 30 (at the time of application); and be currently enrolled in an Indian higher education institution that collaborates with the French institution where the applicant will complete an exchange semester.

Based on merit, the Charpak exchange programme provides the following advantages to awardees: a monthly living allowance of 700 euros; social security coverage; exemptions of the student visa and Etudes en France application fees; and assistance in locating a student housing option at an affordable price.

Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment

By offering complete financial support, the Scheme strives to recognise and promote high-quality education among students from the Scheduled Castes. SC students who continue their education past the 12th grade would be covered by the Scheme. If the student performs satisfactorily, the scholarship will remain in place until the course is finished.

Candidates will be eligible if their annual family income is no more than 8 lakh and they must show an income proof issued by the Government.

Financial Assistance to Children of Beedi Workers by Ministry of Labour and Employment

The wards of Beedi/Iron Ore Mines, Manganese Ore & Chrome Mines (IOMC), Limestone Mines, Dolomite Mines (LSDM), Mica Mines, and Cine Workers receive financial assistance from the Ministry of Labour & Employment for their education (Scholarship), which now ranges from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 25000 per student every year.

The total monthly income of the family must not exceed INR 10,000. Candidates for the award of scholarships should have received regular admission for study at accredited institutions in India in any field of general or technical education, including medical, engineering, and agricultural studies. A candidate must also hold a separate bank account to get this scholarship.
