Pathways School, Noida has resumed offline classes after the air quality in Delhi showed signs of improvement. However, a series of measures have been taken by the school authorities keeping in mind the health of students and staff members.

An advanced central air conditioning system has been installed by the school to maintain fresh and clean air circulation in the premises, with Tested Fresh Air (TFA) handling units pumping fresh air into the school buildings continuously.

These TFAs have small filters that strain the pollution from the atmospheric air, releasing fresh air inside the building. The central atriums with ventilation along the ceilings complete the cycle of fresh air.

The school is situated on a vast stretch of land, of which only 18-20% is occupied by concrete structures. The rest of the land is secured for playgrounds, gardens and newly planted trees. The school has planted thousands of trees in the premises as well as across the boundary wall.

Prashant Jain, co-founder of Pathways School, said, “Pathways has always remained resilient and agile in ensuring safety, health and hygiene for its fraternity. The school is equipped with the most modern HVAC systems that filters the air entering the buildings, thus constantly maintaining a healthy AQI which is monitored at regular intervals. We are very grateful for the support and faith shown by our students and their families.”

Jain added, “We have incorporated all the required measures to provide a clean and safe study space to students. Besides, we have also introduced a provision allowing students with delicate respiratory systems to attend physical or virtual classes at their own discretion. For students attending physical classes, it is mandatory to use face masks and follow regular safety precautions against the ever-present COVID-19 as well as air pollution.”

Plants in pots and flower beds have been carefully selected by the school authorities for their air purifying capacities and placed in the corridors throughout the school.

Parents have expressed their satisfaction at the measures put in place by Pathways School. Smita Anand, parent to three children studying in the school, said, “The school authorities have been very responsive and considerate in incorporating measures to treat its indoor air quality, which is a big relief for me, knowing that the air quality in NCR has reached alarming levels. The school has always been prompt and transparent in its communication as we received the mail regarding the school’s opening well in time.”
