UGC NET June 2026 Extended Registration Ends Today? NTA Issues Important Advisory
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the extended application window for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 examination today, May 23. Eligible candidates who have not yet completed the registration process can apply through the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Earlier, the application process was scheduled to conclude on May 20. However, the National Testing Agency extended the deadline after receiving multiple requests from aspirants seeking additional time to complete their registrations.
According to the revised schedule and recent advisory, candidates can submit the online application form until 10 AM on May 23, 2026. The last date for payment of the examination fee has also been extended till 11.50 PM on the same day.
The agency has further announced that the application correction window will remain open from May 25 to May 27, 2026. During this period, registered candidates will be allowed to make permitted corrections in their application forms.
The National Testing Agency has advised applicants to carefully select their subject before final submission, stating that only one application form should be submitted by each candidate. The agency clarified that multiple applications will not be accepted and requests for subject changes after submission will not be entertained.
As per the revised examination schedule, the city intimation slip for UGC NET June 2026 is expected to be released by June 10, while admit cards are likely to be issued by June 15, 2026. The UGC NET June 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted between June 22 and June 30, 2026.
Candidates applying for the examination are required to keep several documents ready during the registration process. These include a recent passport-size photograph, scanned signature, valid mobile number and email ID, Aadhaar card or any government-issued photo identity proof, postgraduate degree certificate or marksheet, and category or PwD certificate wherever applicable. Final-year postgraduate students appearing for qualifying examinations can also apply by submitting the necessary supporting documents.
Applicants can complete the registration process by visiting the official website and clicking on the UGC-NET June 2026 registration link available on the homepage. Candidates need to first complete the registration process by entering basic details and generating login credentials. After logging in, applicants are required to fill in personal, academic, and examination-related details, upload scanned documents in the prescribed format, and pay the application fee online.
The National Testing Agency has also introduced a special one-time facilitation measure for visually impaired candidates facing difficulties in uploading live photographs during the registration process. Such candidates can submit their live photograph through the designated email ID along with their application number, name, and other required details.
According to the agency, this relaxation is applicable only for visually impaired candidates who are genuinely unable to use the live photo capture feature available on the registration portal.
