The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated the fee refund facility for candidates who appeared in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 examination conducted on May 3. Eligible candidates can now submit their bank account details through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, to receive a refund of the examination fee.

The latest update comes after the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination following allegations of paper leak and irregularities. Earlier, the National Testing Agency had announced that the examination fee paid by candidates would be refunded in full.

In an official notice issued as a continuation of the earlier public notice dated May 12, 2026, the agency informed candidates that a dedicated refund facility has now been made available on the NEET UG 2026 registration portal.

According to the notification, candidates can log in to the registration portal using their application credentials and access the refund link to submit their preferred bank account details. The agency has also provided an optional facility for candidates to upload a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque to ensure accuracy in bank account verification.

The refund portal became active on May 22, 2026, and candidates will be allowed to submit their bank details till May 27, 2026, up to 11.50 PM.

The National Testing Agency clarified that once the bank details are submitted by the candidate, they will be treated as final and no further modifications or corrections will be permitted thereafter.

Candidates are required to provide details, including the account holder’s name exactly as mentioned in the bank account, IFSC code, account number, and bank name, while submitting the refund request.

The agency has also advised students not to initiate any chargeback requests related to the NEET UG 2026 examination fee, as the refund process is already being carried out officially through the designated portal.

To complete the refund process, candidates need to visit the official NEET UG 2026 website and log in using their application number and password or date of birth. After accessing the refund link, applicants must carefully fill in the required banking information and submit the request after verification.

The NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3 was cancelled after allegations of question paper leak and malpractice surfaced. The matter is currently under investigation, and the controversy has affected lakhs of medical aspirants across the country.

Following the cancellation, the National Testing Agency announced that the re-examination for NEET UG 2026 will be conducted on June 21, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode from 2 PM to 5.15 PM.

Candidates have been advised to regularly check the official website for updates related to refund processing, admit cards, examination centres, and other instructions regarding the upcoming NEET UG 2026 re-examination.
