The mop-up round for NEET SS 2022 is currently in the final phases of discussion, according to the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), and a notification is expected. For 1000 vacant seats in the NEET SS 2022, FORDA and FAIMA had written to the health ministry to urge a mop-up round.

In this context, FORDA's letter states: "More than 1000 seats around the nation remain empty following the current counselling procedure (both round 1 and round 2). It is impossible to emphasize how serious this enormous loss of opportunity is, and this calls for an immediate fix. To compensate for the eligibility, the cut-off score was recently drastically lowered. For the current session, we recommend and ask that similar action be taken in addition to doing a mop-up round."

The FAIMA letter states, "In pursuit of their dream, thousands of post-MD/MS resident doctors show up for this exam every year. Each Super Specialist doctor reinforces the abilities of general practitioners, benefiting patients and society in the finest ways. This has a crucial part to play in strengthening the nation's current healthcare system, as the Covid pandemic also demonstrated. In addition to losing one seat, the country's healthcare system and the current doctors treating many patients would suffer if the seats were vacant during the counselling process."
