The first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022 has been deferred to June and the second session to July.
The first session of JEE Main will be held from June 20 to June 29. It was earlier scheduled to be held on April 21, 24, 25, 29 and May 1 and 4.
The second session of JEE Main will be held from July 21 and July 30, instead of May 24 to May 29.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) decided to reschedule the examinations based on requests from examinees.
“The NTA has decided to reschedule the dates of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main first and second sessions based on numerous representations received from the candidates,” the agency said.
This is the second time that the schedule of the first session of the entrance exam has been changed. Last month, the NTA had rescheduled the exams as the dates were clashing with Class XII board exams.
JEE Main comprises two papers. Paper I is conducted for admission to BE and BTech programmes at NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions, and institutions and universities funded and recognised by participating state governments.
It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.
Registration for the first session is over now. The schedule for online application for the second session will be announced soon.
