The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad will soon be launching an introductory Sanskrit certificate course called Prathama-diksha. The course is being offered under the guidance of Central Sanskrit University (CSU). Interested candidates will have to fill in their details in a google form on the link- forms.gle/EZvquTY1VtdY7Rwh6.

The certificate course will be conducted in offline mode and is open to all students, faculty, staff, family of faculty/staff, and even people who are not a part of the university in any form.

There are no such eligibility criteria for joining this course. It is not mandatory for the candidates to know Devanagari reading or writing. The timings of this course will be decided at the convenience of the students. The fees for this course will be INR 1000, including the cost of study materials such as workbooks and textbooks. This certificate course programme will be a prerequisite for the dvitiya-diksha (Diploma course).

According to the notification from the institute, the certification course for Sanskrit will start in October and classes will be held at the IITH campus, based on the convenience of participants.
