Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi’s two-day annual career fest ‘Pravritti 2022’ kick-started in hybrid mode on April 18. Themed ‘Reshaping Chances to Choices’, the fest is also open to non-IIT Delhi students this year, the institute said in a statement.

According to a press communique from IIT Delhi, the fest aims to help students connect with industries and organisations to give them a better understanding of the career avenues available so that they can make a well-informed career choice.

"It attempts to allow students to comprehend and compare different recruiters across sectors and help them understand and build their capabilities via competitions and workshops," the communique read.

“During the fest, organisations can hire IIT Delhi students by conducting selection processes and extending offers to candidates. For the job and internship, around 20 companies are expected to visit the campus physically while around 50 will be conducting processes virtually. Many start-ups have shown interest to participate in the hiring events during the fest,” the IIT Delhi said in its statement.

The career fest will include panel discussions on artificial intelligence, machine learning and analytics; a leadership talk by Sarita Ahlawat, the head of Living Science Group; and a workshop on ‘Storytelling through Data’ by Debleena Majumdar, co-founder of Kahaniyah, and Mukesh Batra, the director of Marketscope; among others. The fest will also feature a hackathon and a virtual industry tour.

Vineet Rai, the founder and chairman of Aavishkaar Group, will deliver the keynote address on ‘Creating Socially and Environmentally Conscious Organisations’.
