The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has introduced a number of programs, including BTech, MTech, and combined PG diploma programs, as part of its numerous endeavors to execute the National Education Policy (NEP). Considering that NEP makes several access and departure points available, the institute is likewise doing so.

Students pursuing a PhD may graduate with an MS in research, while those pursuing an MBA or MTech may graduate with an IIT PG diploma (DIIT). For students pursuing UG, they may graduate with a diploma or a diploma in a specific area of engineering.

Prof. Narayanan D. Kurur, Dean of Academics, spoke about the Institute's multiple NEP activities and stated: "IIT Delhi is committed to following the NEP rules. Several of the provisions have already been put into effect, and others are on the way. We have registered with the ABC (Academic Bank of Credits)".

At the conclusion of their first UG year, the institution will also permit students to switch their fields of study, transition from UG to PG, change their PG program, and upgrade. Materials engineering, energy sciences and engineering, computational and applied mechanics, bachelor of design, master of science in economics, cognitive science, master of technology in cybersecurity, electric mobility, machine learning and data science, biomolecular and bioprocess engineering, and more are all available.

The institute has the following policies in place to give students a flexible learning environment:

  • Temporary suspension of the MTech program in order to find employment, with a subsequent return.
  • UG students have the chance to explore various disciplines and further their parent discipline's specialization.
  • Semester off for internships and startup incubation
  • Flexible time frame to finish their course of study, based on ability and skills.
