Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has announced the launch of the 10th batch of its one-year Advanced Programme in Supply Chain Management for working professionals in collaboration with online education platform Emeritus.

Classes for the batch will commence on June 30 and applicants can avail a discount of 10% on the overall course fee if they apply by May 19, the B-school said in a statement.

IIM Calcutta has stated that with the aim to upskill Indian professionals for career growth in supply chain management, this one-year programme is designed to benefit the supply chain practitioners from manufacturing and service organisations looking for a challenging, advanced programme to drive supply chain efficiency and profitability through contemporary strategies, modelling, and analytics.

Megha Sharma, associate professor, Operations Management, IIM Calcutta, said, “In a rapidly changing business landscape marked by fast-paced technology-led disruption across supply chains globally and the uncertainties that it brings along, upskilling with contemporary insights and best practices is indispensable for business success. As per recent media reports, India will play a significant role in reshaping supply chains and could contribute more than USD 500 billion annually to the global economy by 2030.”

The institute also claims that this programme is ideal for professionals looking to switch to careers in supply chain analytics and enhance their decision making through structured insights into supply chain techniques and industry best practices.

Bodhibrata Nag, professor, Operations Management, IIM Calcutta, said, “We have upskilled over 400 professionals since the inception of this programme. We believe that learners will gain in-demand skills to develop, optimise, and transform digital supply chains so that their organisation has a unique competitive advantage.”

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a certificate of completion from IIM Calcutta and the IIM Calcutta Executive Education Alumni Status.

Mohan Kannegal, CEO, India and APAC, Emeritus, said, “Technological advancements have enhanced the complexity of supply chain operations exponentially. A recent Gartner report stated that by 2025, more than 50% of the supply chain organisations would have a technology leadership role reporting directly to the chief supply chain officer. As logistics and supply chain managers progressively focus on demand rather than supply, there has never been a better time to upskill for a high-growth career in supply chain management. With insights from leading IIM Calcutta faculty, the Advanced Programme in Supply Chain Management is poised to assist participants effectively and efficiently optimise and automate logistics and supply chain activities to improve overall business profitability.”
