More than 42 countries globally participated in IEMTRONICS 2022

Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata organized an international conference, IEMTRONICS 2022 (International IOT, Electronics and Mechatronics Conference), from June 1 to 4, 2022. It was held in association with IEEE Vancouver and Toronto Section in the virtual mode.

The conference was organized by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering under the technical sponsorship of Smart Society, Canada. Takaaki Kajita, Nobel Laureate and professor, Institute for Cosmic Ray Research, University of Tokyo, Japan was the chief guest at the conference. He spoke on experimental discovery of neutrino oscillations with atmospheric neutrinos.

Konstantin Novoselov, who holds the honour of being the third youngest Noble Laureate ever, professor at the Centre for Advanced 2D Materials, National University of Singapore and Langworthy Professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Manchester, Manchester, United Kingdom was the guest of honour at the conference. He spoke on the future applications of Graphene and related 2-D materials.

Keynote speakers from various reputed universities like Columbia University, New York, ETH Zürich, Switzerland, Imperial College, London, United Kingdom, McMaster University, Canada etc delivered technical talks on IOT, electronics and mechatronics. Satyajit Chakrabarti, president, IEM Group and patron of the conference, said, "We organize international conferences from a decade. This conference has seen the participation of luminaries from the world over. Noble laureates and eminent academicians all over the world participated in IEMTRONICS 2022."

Malay Gangopadhyay, technical co-chair of the conference, said, "We have got participation from more than 42 countries around the world and it is my honor to organize such a conference”.

There were a total of 393 paper submissions at the conference, out of which 152 papers were accepted. The acceptance rates for IEMTRONICS 2022 stood at 38.6 %.

Speaking on the event, Rajashree Paul, general chair of the conference, said, "Till now, IEMTRONICS has been a virtual event. Next year, we are looking forward to organizing it in the physical mode at the University of Toronto, Canada.”
