Two modules on stainless steel will be taught at all government polytechnics in Haryana

Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE), Panchkula has joined hands with Jindal Stainless in a bid to upskill and train students in the field of stainless steel application and technology. The collaboration will lead to the institutionalisation of courses on stainless steel in all polytechnic colleges in Haryana.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on February 21 between HSBTE secretary Rajesh Goel and Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, of Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Limited Vijay Bindlish, in the presence of Haryana’s additional chief secretary of technical and higher education Anand Mohan Sharan and Jindal Stainless director Vijay Sharma.
The MoU will launch two modules on stainless steel. A compulsory module in the fourth semester will be taught to mechanical engineering students. This will be taught over 10 lectures as a part of the Materials and Metallurgy subject. These modules will be taught in 25 government polytechnics in Haryana, skilling over 3,000 students annually from March.
At Government Polytechnic (GP), Hisar, a 3-credit 42-lecture elective course will be launched for the mechanical engineering students in their fifth semester. According to the MoU, Jindal Stainless will equip GP Hisar with the equipment needed to conduct practical classes for students on stainless steel fabrication. Thus, the MoU will offer students hands-on experience and training, making them job-ready.

With this partnership, our faculty and students will get hands-on industry experience, insights and training. We congratulate Jindal Stainless for this initiative and look forward to working together to prepare future-ready professionals.”

This MoU will pave the way for a series of professional courses for students and equip them with technical exposure to stainless steel applications in the industry. Stainless Academy by Jindal Stainless has collaborated with 11 leading institutions in India, including several Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology, to create a sustainable stainless steel ecosystem in the country. The organisation, along with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has upskilled over 11,000 grassroot fabricators and welders.
