Google announces scholarships for female students in Computer Science

The Generation Google Scholarship 2021 is being offered to women who are pursuing their Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. The scholarship aims to make students excel in technology and make them leaders in the field.

The scholarship, worth USD 1,000 which amounts to about INR 74,760, will be awarded to women students for the academic year 2022-23 based on their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, innovation and academic performance.

The grant is open to those students who meet the minimum qualifications and are interested to study and make a future in the field of computer sciences.

To be eligible, all candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s degree for the 2021-2022 academic year, the candidate must be enrolled in the second year of study at an university in Asia Pacific country while completing the scholarship program, degrees must be in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field and the candidate must have a strong academic record, have leadership qualities and demonstrate passion for improving the representation of underrated groups in computer sciences and technology.

The last date of application is December 10,2021 and candidates will have to write two short essays, upload their response, academic transcripts and their resume in a PDF format at the time of submission.

All scholarship payments will be made directly to the student to be used towards tuition and education related expenses. Selected candidates will receive instructions from the company on how to receive the award.

Google employees are not eligible to apply.

How to apply:

Step 2. Candidates are to put in their individual information.
Step 3. Candidates are to upload their resume which highlights technical projects and participation in community engagement.
Step 4. Candidates are to upload academic transcripts from their current institutions along with the answers to the short questions.
Step 5. Shortlisted candidates will be redirected to a 15-minute meet and greet session.
Step 6. Candidates will be sent an invitation for the Google Online Challenge within five to seven days of application.
