Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur will start the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 from this Saturday 4 February, 2023. Admit cards for this upcoming examination have been released on gate.iitk.ac.in.

Besides the admit cards, IIT Kanpur had even issued various crucial instructions that all applicants sitting for the exam are expected to follow:

  • On the GATE exam day, all applicants must mandatorily bring a printout of their admit card besides an original and a valid photo ID proof. Furthermore, they must also ensure that the photo on the ID is recognizable.
  • It must further be noted that the GATE admit card will be considered valid only if both the photograph and signature of the applicant are clear.
  • Applicants sitting for the exam must report to the examination centre at least 90 minutes prior to the exam.
  • No applicant will be permitted to login 30 minutes after the start of the exam. They can login and start reading the instructions 20 minutes prior to the initiation of the examination.
  • Amid the exam, a virtual scientific calculator will be shown on the computer screen for numerical calculations. No Personal calculators will be permitted inside the examination hall.
  • A scribble pad will be granted to each applicant for rough work. Prior to using it applicants must write their name and registration number on it. A single student can have only one scribble pad at a given point of time. If a scribble pad gets filled, they can request for another, post returning the first one to the invigilator.
  • No applicant will not be permitted to leave the examination hall before the test ends.
  • GATE admit card can also be used as a pass in case there is a restriction on movements in a certain area.
