The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will release the GATE 2023 results today, 16 March 2023 at gate.iitk.ac.in.

The GATE 2023 cutoff will be out by the officials along with the GATE 2023 results. The GATE 2023 exam results will be available online for candidates who took the exam. Candidates must enter their enrollment number and password to verify the GATE cut-off.

Various shifts of the GATE 2023 exam were successfully held on 4, 5, 11, and 12 February 2023. The total mark of GATE 2023 is 1000. The exam results are used for employment at Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and admissions into PG engineering programmes.

GATE 2023: How to calculate cut-off

Cut-off marks = sum of the marks scored by all students upon the number of students

The cutoff for the backward caste is 90% of the general, while the minimum score for the general category is 25. The usual cutoff for SC/ST/PwD is 67%.

GATE 2023: How to calculate marks

  • The marks will be calculated out of 100 for 65 questions
  • Candidates will be rewarded with either 1 or 2 marks on each correct answer
  • On every incorrect answer, there will be a deduction of 1/3 or 2/3 marks
  • For Numerical Answer Type (NAT) & Multiple-choice questions (MCQs), there will be no deduction of marks

The raw marks that candidates receive in various sessions will be transformed into GATE scores in accordance with the normalisation policy. After the results are announced, the GATE 2023 score is valid for 3 years.
