The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has released the academic calendar for the 2026–27 session, announcing that the registration process for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is expected to begin in the first week of April 2026. The calendar applies to all government and government-aided schools in Delhi and outlines key academic, admission, and examination schedules for the upcoming session.

According to the calendar, the schedule has been designed in alignment with notified holidays and existing guidelines to ensure smooth academic operations and the overall development of students. The document provides detailed timelines for admissions, examinations, co-curricular activities, and major competitive exams.

Apart from CUET, the calendar also highlights tentative timelines for other national-level examinations. Registrations for entrance tests such as JEE, NEET, CA, and CLAT are expected around July, while scholarship examinations like the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship and the Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha are scheduled for August.

The calendar also reflects the implementation of the Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya Vidya Shakti Mission, approved by the Delhi government in December 2025. The initiative aims to support students from government schools by offering free coaching, study materials, mock tests, and mentorship for competitive exams like CUET, JEE, NEET, and CLAT. The programme also assists students with admission and counselling processes after entrance exam results.

The new academic session will commence on April 1, 2026. Admissions for Classes VI to IX under the non-plan category will be conducted in three online cycles between April and July, with the first cycle running from April 1 to April 7. Admissions to Class XI will begin after the declaration of Class X results.

For Classes X and XII under non-plan admissions, a common admission test is scheduled for April 25, with results expected to be announced on April 28. The academic calendar also includes structured timelines for examinations, with mid-term exams for Classes III to XII planned between September 15 and October 13. Annual examinations for Classes III to IX and XI will be conducted from February 15 to March 23, 2027, with results to be declared by the end of March.

In addition to academics, schools have been encouraged to organise a range of co-curricular activities, including quizzes, exhibitions, sports events, and awareness programmes on health, environment, and digital literacy. Observance of significant national and international days has also been integrated into the schedule.

The calendar further details holiday breaks for the session, with summer vacation scheduled from May 11 to June 30, autumn break from October 17 to October 19, and winter holidays from January 1 to January 15, 2027.

The DoE’s academic calendar aims to provide a structured roadmap for students and institutions throughout the 2026–27 academic year.
