NBA's membership of the Washington Accord brings the courses offered by Chandigarh University on a par with courses in many western countries

Chandigarh University has received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for all its Engineering and MBA programmes, the varsity said in a statement, claiming that Chandigarh University was now the only university in India to have both NAAC A+ and NBA accreditation.

The NBA accreditation validates quality standards of the Engineering and MBA courses. This accreditation also gives the students an edge over others in the job market as potential employers accord more value to degrees from NBA-accredited programmes, the university said in its statement.

NBA's membership of the Washington Accord brings the courses offered by Chandigarh University on a par with courses in many western countries. The engineering and MBA students of Chandigarh University would be eligible to practice in or go for higher education to other countries signatory to the Washington Accord. This will ease the mobility of Engineering graduates and MBA professionals at the international level.

Speaking on the NBA accreditation, Satnam Singh Sandhu, chancellor of Chandigarh University, said, "It fills me with pride to note that Chandigarh University has become the only university in the entire country to have NAAC A+ accreditation and NBA accreditation. The fact that the varsity has achieved this feat in less than ten years of its establishment highlights the efforts put in by our faculty members, students and alumni.”

"Accreditations and Rankings are a great tool to assess the standard of an educational institution. The accreditation from NBA is a badge of trust that our programmes have been assessed by the top experts in the field and found to have met premier quality standards,” he added.

The development comes weeks after Chandigarh University became the youngest university in Asia to find a spot in the prestigious QS Asia Universities Rankings.

Chandigarh University offers more than 109 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the field of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Architecture, Journalism, Animation, Hotel Management, Commerce, and others. It has been awarded as The University with Best Placements by WCRC.
