In India, Foreign Lawyers and Law Firms may now "practise foreign law and varied international legal problems in non-litigious cases on the principle of reciprocity," according to the Bar Council of India. The initiative is flexible and forward-thinking, and the bar council will shortly establish the rules of regulations for foreign attorneys and law firms. Since it is not prohibited by the Advocates Act of 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules, they will be permitted to practise law in India up until that point on a "Fly in and Fly out" premise.

According to the official BCI announcement from March 10, 2023, "In India, the legal field is regarded as a noble profession. The legal profession should not be involved in any business competition or procurement. In India, the legal profession is not regarded as a product or utility for sale. Given that law is not a trade and that briefs are not products, the legal profession shouldn't be tarnished by the stench of commercial rivalry or procurement. (Honorable Judge V.R. Krishnairyer).

According to the Bar Council of India, the legal industry in India must adapt to the worldwide changes in the legal landscape brought on by the massive migration of people between nations that has not been seen before. The globe is merging into one big community. Trade and business on a global scale are developing quickly. Clients and the general public who conduct cross-border and international business in India are increasingly pressing for an open, responsive, and receptive legal professional dispensation system.
