Arka Jain University -- the first private university in the mineral-rich Kolhan region of Jharkhand -- has inked a pact with San Pedro College, Philippines to enhance academic standards in their respective departments of Pharmacy.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Arka Jain University’s School of Pharmacy and San Pedro College’s department of Pharmacy on December 4.
Representatives from Arka Jain University included vice-chancellor S S Razi, director Amit Kumar Srivastava, dean (School of Health and Allied Science) Jyotirmoy Sahu and registrar Jasbir Singh Dhanjal. On behalf of San Pedro College, president Sister Aida Francillo and Dr Erwin Fuller were present during the signing ceremony.
Under the collaborative exchange, these two institutions will work together to better students’ education. Speaking about the partnership, Arka Jain University V-C Razi said that in the process of cooperation, knowledge is exchanged frequently and in all directions. It is an intellectual work taken towards the attainment of a common goal.
Arka Jain University director Amit Kumar Srivastava congratulated both the departments and motivated them to add new dimensions in the field of research.
Sister Francillo from San Pedro College called the collaboration an important step towards bettering the quality of education for students of both institutes.
Arka Jain University is a unit of Jain Group, Bengaluru. It was established in 2017 by the Jharkhand State Legislature under “The Arka Jain University Act”. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and claims to be the fastest growing university in Jharkhand.
The University is situated at Gamharia, Seraikela-Kharsawan district, 13 kms from Jamshedpur. It offers multi-disciplinary programmes designed in a way to shape young minds of today into socially-conscious managers, leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
“The use of highest-quality research-led teaching and learning methods at the university help students evolve and be ready for the requirements of the industry. It provides undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in humanities, commerce and science streams. Apart from that, the varsity also offers courses in engineering, polytechnic, law, pharmacy and nursing to nearly 5,550 students,” said Abhishek Kumar, the university’s head of Media Relation and Outreach.
Founded in 1956, San Pedro College is a private Catholic research and coeducational basic and higher education institution run by the Dominican Sisters of the Trinity in Davao City, Davao del Sur, Philippines.
