The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is all set to be conducted tomorrow, 5 February. AIBE XVII exam will take place in offline mode. The AIBE 2023 exam will be conducted as a national-level entrance exam for granting applicants with certificates of practice (COP) and further enable them to practise in a court of law in India.

An official statement on the allindiabarexamination.com said: “Candidates will also be allowed to carry copies of Bare Acts and downloaded copies of Acts without notes but if such copies are not available then copies of bare acts with short notes/least notes will be allowed on the basis of prayer by some candidates.”

AIBE admit card guidelines

  • Applicants sitting for the exam must carry their AIBE 17 admit card along with their one Photo ID proof to their respective examination centre. Applicants without admit cards will not be permitted to enter the exam centre.
  • Applicants must make it a point to report at their respective examination centre by 8:30 am, as no entry will be granted after 10:15 am.
  • Applicants must also carry only Bare Acts without any type of notes and comments inside the examination centre.

What are Bare Acts?

“Bare Acts without notes are allowed .In case of unavailability of Bare Acts without notes, Bare Acts with least short notes will be allowed subject to discretion of the Examiner/Invigilator,” stated the BCI official website. Bare Acts are particularly the exact text of an enactment by legislature, without any kind of interpretation.

The exam conducting body has prescribed the below mentioned guidelines for applicants having disabilities.

  • If the applicant has more than 50 percent disability, 20 minutes extra time per hour will be given to them.
  • If the disability of the applicant prevents them from writing the exam, then the applicant must bring a scribe along who should preferably be a Class 10th or 12th student (not from Humanities background). These scribes must make it a point to carry their school identity card, age and address proof: Aadhar Card.

AIBE 2023 answer key, OMR sheet guidelines

  • All kinds of markings on the AIBE 17 answer sheet must be done with a blue or black ball point pen only. Usage of pencil for marking on the AIBE 2022 exam answer sheet may lead to disqualification of the applicant from the exam.
  • Applicants must enter their AIBE 17 roll number on the answer sheet exactly as it is mentioned on the AIBE XVII admit card and thereafter fill in their respective ovals.
  • Applicants must cross check and fill their AIBE question booklet, set code and every other necessary information correctly on their answer sheet.
